Careers Test Engineer Seeking a full-time Test Engineer to ensure the delivery of quality telecommunications software, working as part of a talented R&D team.
Working in our R&D Centre in the Sydney CBD, this role offers a great opportunity as a Test Engineer for our IVR platform and Java products.
As a Test Engineer, you will require strong knowledge of telephony protocols and Unix operations. Reporting to the Test Lead, this hands-on role will be responsible for a wide range of testing activities. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in a supportive environment, contributing to the evolution of processes and methodology.
Activities: - Preparation of test plans, specifications, scripts, reports and other test documentation
- Selection of appropriate test preparation, specification, execution and completion strategies
- Review and analysis of specifications
- System, robustness and performance testing on complex Solaris and Linux environments
- Analysis of problems and assisting in their resolution
- Communication of test status and findings
- Adhering to existing test methodologies and participating in on-going test process improvement
- Development of automated test scripts using Unix scripting and Holly Automated Test scripting.
Skills:
- 3+ years hands-on Development or Test experience in a telephony environment
- Strong Unix skills (including scripting)
- Database experience desirable, preferably with Oracle and Postgres
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and good attention to detail
- Good test co-ordination skills
- Lateral thinker and enjoys working in a dynamic environment
- Good detective / analytical skills and a desire to work with people to resolve problems.
